If you want a complex, multi‑tiered aquascape that actually stays put, Forest Driftwood is your go‑to. Its earthy, textured slabs reject smoother varieties and give your tank a raw, organic feel. The flat, stackable profile makes it ideal for building architectural layers, steep cliffs, and stable retaining walls. Warm beiges and deep browns add natural color that shifts beautifully under aquarium light. For reliable structure and authentic riverbank vibes, this is the wood you can bank on.

Product Features and Benefits

  • It is the ideal aquarium wood for creating cliff-like shelves or stable platforms to elevate your secondary hardscape.
  • Naturally filled with nooks and crannies, this wood is a perfect host for epiphytic plants. Tucking the rhizomes of Anubias or Bucephalandra into these crevices is simple and results in a highly realistic, "overgrown" look.
  • The weathered, rugged surface adds immediate maturity to any driftwood aquarium, providing a sense of age and stability to your layout.
  • From nano-tanks to massive showstoppers, the wide range of available sizes ensures you can find the perfect fit for any project.

Preparation and Care
Driftwood is a natural product and requires a bit of prep before it’s ready for prime time.

  1. Rinse: Thoroughly rinse the piece to remove any dust or debris from transit.
  2. The Floating Phase: Like many woods, these pieces may float initially. We recommend soaking it thoroughly or boiling it. A large stone or heavy decor may be placed on top to ensure a non-waterlogged piece of wood stays submerged.
  3. Tannin Release: Like most aquarium driftwood, this will release tannins, giving your water a warm, "tea-colored" tint. This is a natural occurrence, and the effects will subside over time. If you prefer crystal-clear water, a 1–2 hour boil is the best way to fast-track the process. You can also reduce this effect through consistent water changes or through the addition of Aquario Neo Carbon Bag

Important note: We recommend rinsing wood thoroughly before adding it to an established aquarium. If you prefer, you may also boil the wood for at least 1-2 hours to help release tannins.
